Aftercare

Your lashes are done. Now don't sabotage my work.

What you do between appointments has a huge impact on retention. Taking care of extensions is actually really simple.

Char holding Lash Detox cleanser

1Wash Them

Clean your lashes regularly using a lash-extension-safe cleanser. Get into the lash line — not just the tips. Rinse thoroughly and gently pat dry.

2Brush Them

Once they're clean and dry, gently brush through them with a clean spoolie. Don't aggressively brush wet, tangled lashes.

3Don't Pick

No pulling. No twisting. No absentmindedly picking extensions off. You can pull out your natural lash with the extension.

4Skip The Mascara

Mascara creates buildup and makes proper cleansing much harder. You got extensions so we wouldn't have to do this anymore.

5Keep Them Clean

Sweated? Swam? Cried? Wore makeup? Watery eyes all day? Oily day? Wash your lashes.

Waterproof doesn't mean life-proof.

Your extensions are waterproof. They are NOT oil-proof, steam-proof, tear-proof, watery-eye-proof, sweat-proof, makeup-proof or dirty-lash-proof.

The lashes can handle getting wet. What they cannot handle well is oil, salt, makeup, skincare, sweat, tears and everyday buildup being left to sit along the lash line.

Water isn't the enemy. Buildup is.

Cried? Wash them. Worked out? Wash them. Went swimming? Wash them. Watery eyes all day? Wash them. Wore makeup? Wash them. Got sweaty or oily? You already know — wash them.

Retention is a team sport.

I handle the application. You handle what happens when you leave.

Retention can be affected by your natural lash cycle, amount of natural lashes, skincare, makeup, environment, lifestyle and aftercare. That's why one client may comfortably make it three weeks while another prefers coming every two.

Good retention isn't about never touching water. It's about keeping your lashes clean and cared for.

Please don't do weird stuff to them.

Don't pick. Don't pull. Don't cake makeup around the lash line. Don't use random internet hacks to remove them. And please don't wait until something becomes a disaster before reaching out.

When in doubt, text Char before you touch them.
